8. What is Applied Kinesiology (AK)?

Answer

In its purest form, kinesiology is the study of muscles and movement.  When used in a clinical setting, it becomes an evaluation and treatment tool for restoring overall health and balance to the body.

Its beginnings originated in the 1960s as a clinical science from work performed by Dr. George Goodheart.  Over time, many branches have developed with different specialties.  To date, there are around eighty different types of kinesiology.  Many colleges offer kinesiology degrees that are more focused on sports physiology.  This is different from the clinical use of kinesiology known as Applied Kinesiology.

Applied Kinesiologists come from all different backgrounds of health care and must be licensed to diagnose diseases.  Some examples of professions that have Applied Kinesiologists are: medical doctors, chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists, homeopaths, physiatrists, osteopathic doctors, podiatrists, etc.  Applied Kinesiology takes from all aspects of health care and healing.  It is an open-ended area of study and a system used for diagnosing, treating and helping people to heal and reach a higher level of health and wellness.

AK is a diagnostic based value system that is currently taught all over the United States and in other industrialized nations through the International College of Applied Kinesiology.  The two main divisions of this college are the ICAK USA and the ICAK Europe.  There are numerous Applied Kinesiologists in Canada and Australia.

The International College of Applied Kinesiology-U.S.A. provides a clinical and academic arena for investigating, substantiating, and propagating AK findings and concepts pertinent to the relationships between structural, chemical, and mental factors in health and disease and the relationship between structural faults and the disruption of homeostasis exhibited in functional illness.

AK is an interdisciplinary approach to health care which draws together the core elements of the complementary therapies, creating a more unified approach to the diagnosis and treatment of functional illness.  AK uses functional assessment measures such as posture and gait analysis, manual muscle testing as functional neurologic evaluation, range of motion, static palpation, and motion analysis.  These assessments are used in conjunction with standard methods of diagnosis, such as clinical history, physical examination findings, laboratory tests, and instrumentation to develop a clinical impression of the unique physiologic condition of each patient, including an impression of the patient’s functional physiologic status.  When appropriate, this clinical impression is used as a guide to the application of conservative physiologic therapeutics.  The practice of Applied Kinesiology requires that it be used in conjunction with other standard diagnostic methods by professionals trained in clinical diagnosis.  As such, the use of Applied Kinesiology or its component assessment procedures is appropriate only to individuals licensed to perform those procedures.

The origin of contemporary Applied Kinesiology is traced to 1964 when George J.  Goodheart Jr., D.C. first observed that, in the absence of congenital or pathologic anomaly, postural distortion is often associated with muscles that fail to meet the demands of muscle tests designed to maximally isolate specific muscles.  He observed that tender nodules were frequently palpable within the origin and/or insertion of the tested muscle.  Digital manipulation of these areas of apparent muscle dysfunction improved both postural balance and the outcome of manual muscle tests.  Goodheart and others have since observed that many conservative treatment methods improve neuromuscular function as perceived by manual muscle testing.  These treatment methods have become the Applied Kinesiology approach to therapy.  Included in the AK approach are: specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian therapy, clinical nutrition, dietary management, and various reflex procedures.  With expanding investigation, there has been continued amplification and modification of these treatment procedures.  Although many treatment techniques incorporated into AK were pre-existing, many new methods have been developed within the discipline itself.

Often the indication of dysfunction is the failure of a muscle to perform properly during the manual muscle test.  This may be due to improper facilitation or neuromuscular inhibition.  In theory some of the proposed causes for the muscle dysfunction are as follows:

  • Myofascial dysfunction (micro avulsion and proprioceptive dysfunction)
  • Peripheral nerve entrapment
  • Spinal segmental facilitation and deafferentation
  • Neurologic disorganization
  • Viscerosomatic relationships (aberrant autonomic reflexes)
  • Nutritional inadequacy
  • Toxic chemical influences
  • Dysfunction in the production and circulation of cerebrospinal fluid
  • Adverse mechanical tension in the meningeal membranes
  • Meridian system imbalance
  • Lymphatic and vascular impairment

9. What Holistic Therapies do you use in your clinic?

Answer

Dr. Ilya uses hundreds of holistic therapies.  Some of the most popular and well-known are:

  • Homeopathy
  • Herbs
  • Nutrition
  • Naturopathy
  • Nutraceuticals
  • Dietary changes
  • Lifestyle changes
  • Acupuncture
  • Chiropractic
  • Dural torque therapy
  • Sacral-occipital technique
  • Breathing therapies
  • Cranial manipulation
  • Habit control techniques (e.g.  temporal tap)
  • Pituitary drive technique
  • Iliolumbar ligament technique
  • Holographic memory technique
  • Magnetic therapy
  • Sound therapy
  • Light therapy
  • Total body modification
  • Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
    …and more

Dr. Ilya has his patients walk, bend, chew, grind, and swallow to make sure the therapies are holding.

Dr. Ilya does refer out for therapies he doesn’t perform if patients need them such as for colonics, surgeries, psychologists, optometrists, or medical doctors with particular specializations.

It is of vital importance to properly diagnose what techniques or therapies to use for what patient at what time and in what order.  With proper diagnosis and treatment, amazing results are accomplished.  If a patient really needs homeopathy, it does no good to use herbs and vice versa.  If acupuncture is needed, chiropractic probably will not help.  If a patient responds well to emotional therapies, structural manipulations won’t produce the same results.

Imagine a computer programmer who is designing software programs that work with the computer’s hardware.  If he makes one little error in the software, it may not work at all.  In fact, a computer can shut down altogether if a serious enough error is made.  It is the same thing with the body, which is a bio-computer.  It is also a hologram.  If a slight error is made in the type of therapy used, the whole therapy may be rendered ineffective.  When therapies are done in precisely the right order and time, amazing health benefits result.

10. What is holistic therapy (alternative medicine) and how different is it from traditional Western Medicine?

Answer

“Holistic” comes from the Latin root word, “whole.”  In this case, “whole” refers to the whole person.  Holistic therapies focus on the entire person and not the disease per se.  It is patient-centered care.  Holistic therapy doesn’t just mean “body-mind-spirit” as defined in the dictionary, but it refers to the six categories that cover all possible root causes of any and all health problems.  Those categories are: structural, chemical, emotional, toxin, electromagnetic, and infection.  A truly well-trained holistic practitioner will address all categories of health imbalances.

Within those six categories are many subcategories:

  • Structural: Bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, fluids, etc.
  • Chemical: herbs, homeopathy, nutrition, whole food, sugars, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, etc.
  • Emotional: spiritual, mental, social, familial, financial, love, chakras, etc;
  • Toxin: chemical, pathogen – parasites, fungus, bacteria, virus, etc.

The difference between Western Medicine and holistic therapies is like the difference between night and day.  As a Chiropractic Kinesiologist, I actually get my patients better by removing whatever is interfering with their body’s ability to heal.  Once this is done, the body heals itself.  BJ Palmer, the son of the founder of chiropractic, used to say: “The power that made the body can heal the body.”  He was correct.  Patients who receive therapies from me feel like they are younger than they were before receiving the therapies.  People do not usually feel like they did when they were younger after getting surgery – they may look younger after cosmetic surgery, but they do not feel younger.

In Western Medicine, there are “pain clinics” where people go to “manage” their pain.  If I had a great deal of pain, we would not want anyone to “manage” my pain for me.  I would want them to find the cause, treat the cause, and keep the pain from ever coming back!  This is what we want to do for our patients.  It is complete holistic control.  That is the big difference.   Western Medicine doesn’t seek to understand the mechanism that is causing the problem in the first place.  Medication and surgery are used to get rid of the symptoms rather than treating the underlying cause.

11. What kind of ailments do patients ask your help for?

Answer

As a specialist in female hormonal imbalances and thyroid dysfunction, I am more able to help women with these issues than other types of health maladies.  However, because I am a holistic health practitioner, I am able to treat the underlying cause of a whole host of concerns.

For a patient who comes in with pain in their left foot, we may or may not treat their foot.  But we do treat them so that their foot pain goes away.  The trouble may be originating from their left knee, left hip, neck, jaw, anything.  Without diagnosing what’s causing the left foot pain, there’s no way to get rid of the pain and permanently keep it from coming back.  This is what we do.

We treat patients with ailments, chronic conditions, and diseases of all types.  This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Diabetes
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Menopausal symptoms – hot flashes, night sweats
  • Arthritis
  • Sports injuries
  • Insomnia
  • Cancer
  • Lupus
  • Sexually transmitted disease
  • Depression
  • Bi-polar disorder
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • ADD
  • Addictions to cigarettes, drugs
  • Angina
  • Headaches, migraines
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Vaginal dryness, painful vagina
  • Asthma

We make the distinction that we don’t TREAT cancer, diabetes, depression, etc., but, instead, we treat the ROOT CAUSE that is generating the imbalance.  we treat the whole person structurally, chemically and emotionally.  We treat the person who has the cancer.  We treat the person who has the diabetes.  We treat the person who has the depression.   For example, for 60-70% of patients who are on thyroid medication, their thyroid gland is actually fine.  What’s causing the problem and the need for thyroid medication is that their immune system is not working properly.  Again, the ONLY way to get rid of a person’s health symptoms is to treat the cause.  We do this structurally, chemically, and emotionally.

12. What are the benefits of your holistic therapies?

Answer

I give my patients another chance at life when previously they may have given up hope due to depression, cancer, over-reliance on drugs, poor healing from a surgery or accident.  I put people back in charge of their lives.  I give people hope. Those are pretty big benefits!

We help people put their lives back together.  We help them with their mood, energy level, sex life, love life, and financial concerns.  We help them to express themselves more fully, to communicate better, to feel more confident, and to reach a higher level of consciousness.  There is no limit to the benefits of these holistic therapies.  We help our patients on a deep level.

We help people overcome addictions. We help patients get off medications often in just a few treatments (whether they’ve been on them for two years or twenty years). We help people get rid of headaches they’ve suffered from their whole lives.  We’ve helped people with angina where they previously couldn’t even walk up and down the street. After following our treatments, these people were able to walk up and down mountains – literally!

All types of health concerns vanish when patients come to work with me.  Why?  Because I diagnose and treat the underlying root cause.  I’m not shooting in the dark.  I’m not giving them a pill to see how it works.   My approach is specific, precise, scientific, and above all powerfully effective.

Answer

Yes, we treat men.  Again, we treat most people for most things.  Because the therapies are so effective, we are able to help most people with most health concerns most of the time, mostly quickly and permanently.

15. What is homeopathy?

Answer

Homeopathy is the safest medicinal therapy known, with no known side effects.  It’s often known as energy medicine and has evolved over the last 100 years.

Around the turn-of-the-century (1900s) in the United States, so many sick people were getting well through homeopathy that the American Medical Association (AMA) shut down the three or four homeopathic schools in the U.S.  To this day, there are no schools of homeopathic medicine in the U.S.  The only schools are located outside of the U.S., in England, Germany, India, for example.

Homeopathy is extremely effective.  There are cases where only a single remedy administered completely relieved scoliosis or seizures due to pesticide poisoning.

Homeopathy is a method of treating disease by administering drugs in small doses that actually have symptoms of the disease.  There are different types of homeopathy, but all homeopathic remedies are made from naturally occurring plant, animal or mineral substances.  Homeopathy uses the “law of similars.”  The saying among homeopaths is that “like cures like.”  What they mean by this is that if the correct homeopathic remedy is chosen, with the correct energetic frequency and at the exact strength, then it will heal the disease.

An example of the use of “similars” is the following: Let’s say a person has hay fever.  A substance or chemical in nature is found that causes hay fever, such as a feather.  Bits and pieces of that feather are put in 5 ounces of water.  The water is shaken 100 times.  A drop is then taken from that water and put into another 5 ounces of water and is shaken 100 times.  This process is repeated a total of 100 times.  A homeopathic preparation isn’t considered high quality unless is has a 100 strength or higher.  This is usually indicated with “100c” or “100m” on a label.  Most commonly, the foundation of a preparation is sugar pellets, water, or alcohol.
Keep in mind that the diagnosis is incredibly important when it comes to using homeopathy properly and this is where Applied Kinesiology proves to be invaluable.

Different Types of Homeopathy:

Constitutional – One dose is given, usually of a high potency.  Then one waits up to six months to see if there is a shift in symptoms.  This form of treatment is advantageous for deep-seated, chronic, inherited predispositions, such as allergies, familial asthma, cancer, depression, old vaccination damage or chemical exposures.

Classical: Single remedies used – The homeopathy practitioner takes a detailed history from the patient.  From the answers to those questions, as well as through observation, the practitioner attempts to match the pattern of the patient’s symptoms to the pattern of a single remedy as outlined in one or more Materia Medicas.  This remedy can be chosen manually or by computer.  The potency is usually determined by a number of factors including severity and history of the symptoms.  This form of treatment is most similar to the one developed by Hahnemann, the German physician who created homeopathy.  It is also the most common form of practice.

Combination: Remedies contain two to four ingredients – The diagnostic approach may be the same as the classical approach.  Other diagnostic styles may include Applied Kinesiology or electrodermal biofeedback.  This style is heavily used in France, Canada and the U.S.

Complex: Remedies may contain up to 25 ingredients – The diagnostic approach may be similar to the combination approach.  Multiple ingredients are used to encourage what is known as homeopathic or lymphatic drainage.  This is best for complex, difficult cases where multiple problems occur simultaneously.  Drainage helps drain toxicity from organs or systems that are on overload due to chronic, genetic, or environmental factors.  This type of approach is used extensively in Germany with electronic diagnostic equipment.  Diagnosis may also be determined using Applied Kinesiology.

Homeopathic Medicine History

Based upon the theories of the German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), the homeopathy practice spread rapidly through Europe during his lifetime, mostly due to the success of homeopathic physicians in treating cholera during the Napoleonic wars.  Constantine Herring established the first homeopathic medical college in America in 1836.  By 1900, one in five physicians in the United States was a homeopathic physician (similar in practice to the licensed naturopathic doctor today); there were twenty formal homeopathic medical colleges, and more than one hundred homeopathic hospitals.

16. What is Total Body Modification (TBM)?

Answer

Total Body Modification (TBM) has been practiced by doctors all over the world for the last forty years.  It is currently being taught throughout the United States and Europe.

TBM is an adjunct to all existing (remembered and forgotten) chiropractic philosophies used for the restoration and maintenance of the optimum health of patients.

When chiropractic was founded, it was based on the philosophy of health care through the treatment of the energy of the spine and nerves.  Today’s insurance companies and political health organizations would rather relegate chiropractic to necks and backs and only through injury.  It is up to all of us to educate the public to the true meaning of chiropractic and to the freedom we should all have to choose the health care we want.  In the early days of chiropractic, the old-time chiropractors were not restricted or confused by scientific proof of what they were able to do.  The old masters of the chiropractic profession found a problem and corrected it, thereby building the reputation of chiropractic as a healthcare system more effective than drugs and surgery.  Their main philosophy was: “The Power That Made The Body Can Heal The Body.”

TBM has taken that original philosophy and explored the possibilities of self regeneration inherent in the human body.  Using TBM, Dr. Ilya has found that if the right thing is done to the right body at the right time in the right way and in the right order, miracles happen.  With TBM Dr. Ilya has taken the techniques of the old chiropractic masters and combined them with modern technology.  Dr. Ilya can now duplicate the corrections and the restoration to health that the old masters were able to achieve, but he can do this by intent and on a repeatable basis.

With TBM, Dr. Ilya is able to test and correct most of the known body functions.  The human body is an integrated unit, and it doesn’t always fit the logic that people have been taught in school.  Therefore, TBM, with newly founded awareness and thinking, accepts the clinical responses that patients achieve using TBM.  Interestingly, body functions which the medical profession and the rest of the world thinks of as separate activities, in actuality, interact and communicate with each other in a myriad of complex pathways.

Through the efforts and teachings of many different health innovators, and through trial and error, TBM has been able to put together repeatable technical procedures to correct imbalances of functional physiology.

A simple indicator neuromuscular reflex muscle test and test points located throughout the body are used to determine the positive or negative function of the body.  TBM teaches that the biological computer within the body controls all of the body functions.  TBM has found that by using the test points and an indicator muscle, it is possible to test the various computer programs within the system.  Then, using energetic and soft tissue corrections, the practitioner can re-align the function of specific computer programs, thereby restoring function and communication within the body.

D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic said, “Too much or too little energy is pathology.”  This is also the foundation of acupuncture – understanding that the imbalance of Yin and Yang leads to all disease.  Both are correct.  If the body programs run too fast or too slowly, pathology can develop.  TBM can normalize that flow of energy by balancing the body’s computer programs.

Hard scientific data validates much of TBM.  However, double-blind studies cannot be done on living, breathing bodies.  The obvious validation of TBM is in the clinical results.  Using TBM, amazing results have been obtained by patients all over the world.

TBM is very important because we are continuously faced with ever-increasing health challenges resulting from the dangerous pollution of our environment.  If we cannot change our environment, we must learn to live within it by eliminating the detrimental effects on our health.  TBM does this.

TBM uses the neuromuscular reflex test and body access points to tap into the body’s bio-computer and read functional programs.  It is recognized that certain conditions produce predictable subluxation patterns in the spine.  Corrections are usually made by means of respiratory spinal treatment of these patterns, or by soft tissue or joint manipulation.  TBM may sometimes look like magic to the uninformed, because WHEN THE RIGHT THING IS DONE, TO THE RIGHT BODY, AT THE RIGHT TIME, MIRACLES HAPPEN!  While the results may be incredible, they are also repeatable from patient to patient to patient.  TBM can correct imbalanced physiology (the inner workings of the body) from pre-natal life to just before death.

TBM treats the cause and not the symptom.  TBM allows patients to need treatment less often and allows for treatment procedures to flow more quickly.

TBM is taught all over the world only to licensed health care providers which include chiropractors,  M.D.s, dentists, psychologists, naturopaths, nurse-practitioners, acupuncturists, veterinarians, polarity therapists and energy workers.

Total Body Modification evolved from the minds and insights of Dr. Victor Frank and the late Dr. C.  Harold Havlik.  Dr. Frank learned true chiropractic from the old masters such as:  Dr. George Metzinger, father of Diversified; Dr. Al Wernsing, a practitioner of Hole In One and founder of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association Philosophy; and many of the other experts and pioneers of chiropractic including Barney Miner, Lou Smithson, Dr. Roosevelt, Carl Nixon, Sr., and many others.  Dr. Havlik lived in the home of and studied with Dr. Houser, of Janse, Houser and Wells, authors of the original adjusting text used in chiropractic colleges.

Dr. Frank is a diplomate and charter of the International College of Applied Kinesiology and was one of ICAK’s original workshop leaders.  He was one of the initial 12 followers of Dr. George Goodheart.  While he was and is grateful for the efforts and advancements made in the chiropractic world by Dr. George Goodheart and all of the other diplomates in Applied Kinesiology, Dr. Frank became frustrated and impatient with the commitment needed in the everyday practice of Applied Kinesiology.

About that time Dr. Robert Riddler, a chiropractor and diplomate in both radiology and Applied Kinesiology, began to explore the body’s healing potential beyond what AK had already successfully demonstrated.  In his own research, he had found ways of accessing the healing potential of the body.  He found ways of accessing the body’s bio-computer through the use of body touch points discovered in AK, as well as in trigger point therapy and acupuncture.

Dr. Riddler simplified and expanded the concepts of AK using the above-noted points and began to share this information with colleagues.  He began teaching his work in California and Canada and inspired Dr. Frank and Dr. Havlik.

These two innovative chiropractors, Dr. Frank and Dr. Havlik, found that they truly believed that for every disease, there is a cure within nature.  They decided that they wanted to develop and perfect a method of natural care that was repeatable and teachable to everyone.  They wanted to do by intent what chiropractic had always done by accident.  They also wanted to prove that the living body functions differently than the cadaver body.  They started a new philosophy called “functional physiology.”

With all of this expertise and experience, and through the health experiences and challenges of several family members, TBM was born.  There were many students who came to visit Dr. Victor Frank and Dr. Havlik’s clinics to see what they did.  Drs.  Roger and Thora Grifka wanted Dr. Frank to teach his methods to other chiropractors.  From that day onward, since the late 1960s, TBM grew and is now a modality sought after all over the world.

Dr. Victor Frank’s son, Randall Frank, has developed another popular system of healing known as Natural Healing.

17. What is N.E.T.?

Answer

Neuro Emotional Technique (N.E.T.) was developed by Dr. Debbie and Dr. Scott Walker.  Dr. Scott Walker was one of the original 12 followers of Dr. George Goodheart, the originator of Applied Kinesiology.  Neuro Emotional Technique is based upon Total Body Modification and the original work of Dr. Victor Frank, another one of the original 12 followers of Dr. George Goodheart.

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a methodology of finding and removing neurological or meridian aberrations.  We call these aberrations Neuro Emotional Complexes (NECs).  These aberrations have, as a component part, specific related emotional physiopathological patterns.  NET is ultimately a method of finding and removing these patterns by cutaneous or spinal accesses to the nervous system.

Emotions are traditionally thought of as being normal functions of human beings and normally pose no neurophysiological problem.  Occasionally, emotional trauma in the presence of a neurological or meridian deficit can cause a physiopathological-related pattern in the body – an NEC – which does not resolve itself.

NET seeks to normalize this pattern by a physiological change: a result of a physical intervention.  Any psychological aspects of this trauma should be addressed by the appropriate health-care professional, such as a psychologist or psychiatrist.  NET is not psychology or psychiatry, but can be used in tandem with these and other disciplines.  It does not involve any type of psychotherapy or “talk it out” approach to emotions.

Additionally, NET does not deal with the spiritual realm.  It does not exorcise demons or entities.  It is not performed silently or through any psychic activity and does not deal, in any way, with parapsychology.  NET does not predict the future, and it does not tell people what their plan of action may, must, or should be for the future.

NET does not make claims as to what may have happened in the past.  In NET, all memory events in an NEC are considered “emotional reality” because these events may or may not correspond with actual or historical reality.  For example, some NECs may be associated with imagined emotional events such as misconceptions or nightmares.  Essentially, NET is a system of physiological (not psychological) correction that is without extrinsic values to influence the patient’s life.  The one exception to this is that NET does incorporate a number of different homeopathic preparations which are often used to encourage specific desirable health benefits.

NET is an emerging technology based on many scientific principles and strives for ongoing scientific studies to validate the excellent clinical results observed to this point.  The value of NET is to be determined by objective science, the patient and the practitioner who is using the ideas and concepts of the NET technology.

NET utilizes the 10,000 year old science of acupuncture and the meridian system.  There are some similarities between EFT and NET.  However, NET is a far more complex and advanced system of diagnosis and treatment than EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and is only taught to licensed health care providers.  EFT can be learned by anybody.  NET is used by numerous psychologists all over the United States and is currently taught in the graduate program at the psychiatric department of Harvard Medical School.

18. How should I dress when I come to appointments with Dr. Ilya?

Answer

So as not to interfere with the muscle testing, it is ideal to wear loose, comfortable, cotton clothing or other natural fiber clothing (e.g.  wool, linen, hemp, silk).  Avoid wearing synthetic fibers (polypropylene, polyester, lycra, spandex), skirts, dresses, and tight, binding clothing such as jeans.  Be sure to take off all jewelry, watches or other metal objects prior to the treatment session.

19. What is the purpose of herbs and how and why are they used?

Answer

Herbs have been used for over 10,000 years for their medicinal properties.  The best use of them has been throughout the Orient.  Herbs are much safer than drugs, as they come from nature.  Prescription medications are synthetic.  They are made in laboratories and often have side effects which can be more worrisome than the problem they are meant to get rid of in the first place.

There can be some toxicity to herbs, but when taken properly, they have tremendous health benefits.  Some herbs imitate hormones or actually have active bio-available hormones in them such as soy and black cohosh, wild yam root, damiana, red raspberry leaf, and dong quai.  These herbs help balance hormones.  There is a whole pharmacopeia of herbs – books that go back thousands of years that go over specific formulations, how to prescribe the herbs, etc.  There are 100 classical formulations in Traditional Chinese Medicine that have been used for thousands of years.

Herbs have been shown to get rid of cancer, diabetes type II, and balance blood sugar, decrease pain, inflammation, and swelling.  Herbs can help different glands, organs, and the immune system to work better; they can help with memory, with excessive bleeding, and the production of red blood cells.  Herbs have all types of properties that can help with just about any health concern.

Herbs are safer than drugs and should be considered as an option, especially when dealing with chronic health challenges.  Herbs actually change the electromagnetic functioning of the body.  That’s how they work.  The body is essentially a bio-computer.  Every cell in the body uses nutrients.  Those nutrients conduct electricity in certain ways.  It is the electrical gradient between the inside and the outside of the cell membrane which allows life to exist.  When a person takes certain herbs, the herbs change the electrical functioning of glands and organs.  Herbs are very powerful.  They should only be used by prescription.  It’s never a good idea to pick up an herbal remedy unless it’s been prescribed by a licensed, trained health care provider.

20. What does energy medicine mean? Who are some of the pioneers of energy medicine in the United States?

Answer

For additional insight into energy medicine, please also refer to the information provided about NET, TBM, Homeopathy, or Applied Kinesiology.

Energy medicine has been around for many thousands of years.  All medicine is energy medicine, whether we like to think of it that way or not.  Any input into the body affects the energy of the body.  With the energy medicine that Dr. Ilya performs, no drugs, radiation or surgeries are used.

Everything is energy.  The world is composed of different energy fields.  For instance, the air that we breathe is composed of a variety of gases.  Those gases are energy, meaning atoms with electrons that spin around a nucleus and a proton with neutrons inside the atom.  Every time you breathe in and out you are breathing in and out a variety of particles and atoms.  All those particles and atoms — the seat you’re sitting on, the earth you’re walking on — are energy.

How do we affect a person’s health using energy medicine? A good energy medicine practitioner will take into account the air that we’re breathing, the light that hits our bodies or doesn’t, energy from electromagnetic radiation (such as from cell phones, electrical wires, electrical devices, land line phones, fax machines), and all the ways of healing that involve the now vast science of quantum physics.  Some of the greatest strides in energy medicine have been made by Dr. Victor Frank (TBM), Dr. George Goodheart (AK), and Scott Walker (NET).

Energy medicine involves making an influence on the body in an area you don’t touch directly.  For instance, I might improve the health of a person’s kidneys by tapping a point near their head.  If I tap it in such a way, through a scientifically based protocol, it can affect the health of the kidneys in a positive way.  Even though there is a lot of controversy around this type of unusual and progressive approach, it is also very effective and is a real, scientifically proven approach that works.  It is repeatable and has been well documented.

When speaking about energy medicine, this refers to the use of Quantum Physics and how it affects the body, much as a computer programmer would affect the hardware of a computer when he develops and runs a software program.  The human body is both like a computer and also a hologram. Advanced energy medicine takes this into account.

Energy medicine is practiced by all societies and all people and has been practiced for thousands of years.  Cutting edge modern energy medicine, however, takes into account the science and the anatomy of the body and utilizes the vast wealth of knowledge coming from Western and Eastern medicine and all other forms of healing and science.

Dr. Ilya’s energy medicine specialty is termed Total Kinesiology.  He was taught this system by one of his mentors.  Because this system is so advanced, he is able to get results that would normally take thirty visits in just one visit.  Energy medicine is incredibly powerful.
